Causes of WWll

Dear Americans, I want to talk to you about World War 2 and ways we can keep peace, the reason it started and what the conditions are like in Europe after two years of fighting.
We can keep peace in with the Treat of Versailles. This treaty ended World War 1, and pnished Germany for the starting of the war. The League of Nations was organized to prevent future wars. The U.S, Great Britain, Japan, Italy, and France agreed to stop building war ships for ten years. The Kellogg-Briand Act was an agreement that promised to always settle disputes peacefully.
Reasons this war started was the fact that Mussolini came to power in Italy. Mussolini and his followers promised to increase power of Italy. Japan invaded Manchuria. The only reason they did this was to simply gain land and resources. This violated the League of Nations. Hitler came to power in Germany. they seized power in Germany. If people disagreed with Hitler they were killed or tortured. Japan invades China. Most of China's resources were taken by Japanese. Germany attacks Poland, and WW2 begins. Germany moved their way through Poland as quickly as they did by using Blitzkrieg.
After 2 years the conditions in Europe aren't so good. Germany conquers all of western Europe. Japan moved moves to Asia and invades Indochina. The Lend-Lease Act was passed and gave the president the right to sell or lend war materials to countried fighting against the Axis powers. The Germans have also invaded Russia, and they are 700 miles into Russia.
At this point, I don't think we wil be joining the war becasue they havent done anything to us that would provoke us. We don't want to wait till the worst happens, so more thought will go into it.

depression

I think people have learned a lot since the great depression. I don’t think another depression as significant as that because the consumer economy has grown a great amount. Also, there is a lot more trading between countries, so I don't think our economy will drop to the point of the great depression. It's not something I think about because as I said, people are smarter and buy and share stocks more wisely. If something that bad did ever happen, I think more people would get involved, and have it solved more quickly because the country is too high up in the world than it was back then and we can't afford to drop especially since there is a war going on.
